1st Birthday CHANCE

A bright and colourful 1st birthday cake for a little man named Chance!

I thought this cake wouldnt take me long at all but I underestimated all those colours!! LOL

Beautiful and bright...love it!
Thanks to Keeley for having faith in me to make it for her nephew :-)

Bling 18th for Ashleigh

One of my favourite cakes so far!
I was so excited to use the bling diamond mesh banding which I had purchased to try for my wedding cake!

For this cake I was given a picture of the style of cake and I used what I had to make it so fabulous! I am very proud of how this turned out and I am hoping that Ashleigh loved it as much as I did!!

The silver hearts on the 2nd and 3rd tier were hand piped with royal icing, left to dry and then painted with edible metallic paint. They were definitly the most difficult and time consuming part of the cake but definitly well worth it i think!

When the cake got the the party more of the pink hearts on top were added to make it more extravagant. I didnt add them before as I was worried they would get too much movement in the car and the wire would bend too much.

Timmy Time for Layla

Timmy...it's Timmy! He's the little lamb with a lot to learn! (I am not a fan of this kids show!) The song just gets stuck in your head!!

The little picket fence would have to be my favourite part on this cake, I guess I just like anything miniaturised :-)

I was very nervous about making Timmy and I left him right till the end. I was actually very pleased with how he turned out, being my first figurine made out of fondant. My son Rhys knew who he was so I was hoping little Layla did too :-)

Lady Bug Cake Toppers

The cutest little bugs I have made so far!
30 of these little bugs were made for my cousin Raechelle to put on her daughters cupcakes for school :-)

Assassin's Creed Cake

This was made for my cousin Ben. When I was first asked to make it I had not idea what Assassin's Creed was...so a little research was needed!

I really wanted to finish the cake off with some blood splatters as I found out it was a violent war game...but his mum said "nah...leave it how it is" LOL

The letters and symbol were hand cut with a small blade scalpel to match the game exactly :-)

Jack Daniels Bottles

Jack daniels cake made especially for my partner Brad's 30th Birthday!

I was given 2 days notice of what he wanted which is why the labels werent edible...if I had of had time to prepare I would of had the labels printed onto rice paper...but I still think it turned out ok.

Originally I was only going to create one bottle, however once it was complete I was not convinced that it was going to feed everyone so I made another from the left over cake...this is why they look a little different in size.

It was definitly an adult only cake as actual Jack Daniels was used in the cake mixture :-)

House Warming Cake

My friend Leteisha had just moved into a new house and what better excuse to try a new cake :-)

The hardest part was the frog! Very fidily...but my favourite part was that the reeds were all edible..I used raw spaghetti as the stems which I thought made them look very realistic :-)

Dora the Explorer

Nothing on this cake really screams Dora besides the plush doll on top and the backpack and map.
It was a fun cake to make with so many bright colours.
I had planned to make the Dora out of fondant like I did with the map and backpack but as I was starting it I fell terribly ill and was unable to complete it, so my wonderful mother went searching for a Dora figuring the morning it was due and this was all she was able to find ANYWHERE!

I was told Taya really liked the cake and the best part about me not being able to finigh the fondant Dora was that she was able to keep the doll on top :-)

Small Corset

My first attempt as some boobs!
According to my partner they were too big! (is there such a thing?)

This was made as a practice cake for my cousin Jamie's 18th birthday...I never got to make the real one for his birthday :-(

Sexy Corset

My lovely neighbour Cheril approached me to make her sons 21st birthday cake...and how could I resist making a sexy corset bodice!

Christening Cake

 My first book cake!!

This was made especially for a gorgeous little lady named Jazmyn for her Christening.

I was very excited to do this cake as I now had an excuse to buy some little feet moulds which are just so adorable! I was also excited to use some metalic edible paint which I used on the cross and the bookmark to make them look a bit rustic.

The Pregnant Belly (Baby shower)

This cake was made simply because I wanted to give it a go!
Alot of my girlfriends were pregnant at the time so I decided to invite them around for a playdate (with our chidlren) and surprise them with this lovely pregnant belly!
I really hope they enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it :-)

Cupcakes

These cookie monster cupcakes were so easy and were such a hit at my son Rhys' daycare for his 3rd birthday. All the kids went home with blue fingers and tongues :-)

A quick slap together job for my cousin Sam returning home for a little holiday. Not quite sure of the theme but they tasted delicious :-) White chocolate mud cake cupcakes!
These were made simply to test out my new butterfly cutters.
Simple but cute :-)
The hamburger cupcakes...my favourite by FAR!
These little things were so deceiving...you thought you were biting into a hamburger but it obviously tasted like a cupcake. I had so many positive comments on these little babies :-)
I would definitly make them again...the only downfall I would say is the waste from using only the tops from the chocolate cupcakes (the burger patty).

Another attempt at using my new butterfly and flower cutters
Pirates!! These little dudes were made for my nephew Jack! They also cake with treasure chests pictured below :-)

The Bumblebee Hive

As soon as I saw these cute little bumblebees on the internet I just had to give them a go. So, my little cousin Seth was my next client :-)

If i were to do another one I wouldnt make the hive entrance as big and I would make my own flowers and embelishments (not use those crappy little shop ones from coles) but I was a beginner so what ya going to do LOL :-)

Each torted layer of the chocolate cake had bright yellow buttercream inbetween so when the cake was cut it looked like the honey was oozing out of the honeycomb. YUM!

Thomas the Tank Engine

This cake was my very first attempt at using fondant. It was made especially for my son Rhys on his 3rd birthday.

All of the fondant on this cake is store bought, however it did not take me long to work out how to make my own which tastes 100 times better than the stuff in the cake shops and coles!

The cupcakes were the easiest part. I would not recommend trying this cake as a beginner. If I knew what I was in for before I started I would never have promised Rhys a Thomas cake.

I have no doubt I will be trying another one for his 4th birthday :-)
